Description Here is another traditional pencil work executed on the premise that each piece of art comes from somewhere beyond the artist. I often feel that it is already there just waiting for me to coax it out. Let me kknow what you think about my second deviation. Enjoy!

Amazing. It has this Mucha and Giger feel to it.

Janelle:

Thanks so much for the kind comments and the addition my pieces to your favs list!

Don't worry there are more to come. I am working on about 5 or 6 pieces right now. There are some digital and some just pencil. They are all at varying stages. Im thinking of doing some before and after kind of thing with base linework and shading posted first and then post the final digital colored version. Any thoughts on that?

Peace!

OHHHHH, can't wait for the new work! Had to put you on my "watch"... so I don't miss them! Merry Christmas to you and yours! Are you using Photoshop CS for colorization?

Yes I am using Photoshop CS. I recently bought a Wacom - Bamboo Fun pen tablet especially for breaking into the digital art realm. I have done a few things in the past using the mouse for my architectural job but highly cumbersome and inaccurate. It is a total source of frustration. Now I'm just trying to get used to the new workflow process. Hopefully we'll soon see how well I can adapt to it for real production. Merry Christmas to you and your family as well!

Peace!

I am very interested in using the new Wacom... presently, we have Wacoms for students in our department, but since I do not teach Commercial Art (I teach Drawing and Adv Drawing) have not had the opportunity to work with them much. (I am a high school art instructor) I am interested in your technique and methods, hope to see more of your work!

Janelle:

Thanks again for the comments and responses. I have been wanting to get back to you but have been pretty wrapped up with work deadlines and the holidays lately.

Just to give you a little background, I am a project manager and intern architect at an AE firm in Tampa. I went through five years of college for architecture but my true passion is in my personal artwork which I have very little time for. What time I do have I have to steel from somewhere else. But I can try to answer any questions you might have. I am at work right now so I will try to write more later.

In the meantime if you have any specific questions I will do my best to answer them regarding my work. As far as the Wacom tablet goes I am a newbie and have very little to offer. But I can tell you that it beats the Mouse any day of the week. I am still trying to incorporate it in my personal workflow. As I said... all my work is really personal so I'm not on any deadlines like that. I would highly recommend getting a subscription to ImagineFX magazine from Future Publishing in England. You can usually find a stray copy or two at Borders or Barnes and Noble. They are about $15 per copy but it comes with a DVD packed with goodies and tutorials. Well worth the $ paid.

Bye for now. I'll be in touch

Peace!

I appreciate your informative response!!! I am off to search for a copy of ImagineFX!!! You sound like a very busy man.... hopefully in the future your life will lead you to more free time to make art.... I am astounded at the beauty of your gallery thus far! Take care, and thanks!

This is so bad ass. I really would love to have a biomech style tattoo. I love the depth of it, the separation of foreground and background is really well done. Nice perspective.

This is pretty badass. It must have taken a long time.

Thanks for the support! Yes it did take a long time... Actually several years! I ran across the original partial sketch in an old sketchbook of mine and decided to put some more work into it. I would actually sit in my car during lunch and jam out while drawing and shading, etc. My time is extremely limited so it just took shape until it told me it was done. And there it is!

Thanks again for the comment!

Peace!
