if you need help, what i did was print out a star, cut it out, then use the paper as a template

I'm sorry, but I have no tutorial for this dress. I've used pattern from "Burda" magazine, it was kinda baggy dress and I've made a lot of fitting.

Did you use a pattern for the dress?

Yes, I've used pattern from "burda" magasine. But there was 3 steps of fitting for my body.

Really cool, I like your design a lot. It's subdued and tasteful without the shield, but really carries the look when you add it in. If you wanted to accentuate the 'soldier' feel to it you could add a darker belt with some pouches etc to really sell it.

Thank you a lot))
This dress really have many options: sometimes I wear it even without belt&gloves and with sandals instead of boots. This set looks very casual, does not attract too much attention.
Now I'm making belt with pouches and holsters for stage perfomance, to make it more "costume" than "clothes".

I was prepared to do the belt by myself, but by happy accident I've saw this one in the sale basket in the shoe store. Exactly that I needed for lesss than 3$)))
But I will make a holster (instead of backpack straps) for stage perfomance.

Pattern is from burda magazine, but originally it was baggy long dress. Dress was fitted directly on me in 3 steps (I'm happy because I have sister, she helped me).

Yes, I can, I even have in-progress photos. But I don't think it's the good way... Too much time ans work, and result don't worth it.
I have anoter shield, here is in-progress photo: twitpic.com/cfexnk/full It was easyer to make, but I'mm not sure you can find base item.

Both shields look amazing, what did you use to make them?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AcidDaisy In reply to RabiRen-chan [2013-07-28 21:38:27 +0000 UTC]
First made completely by me, it was long process: first I made blank mold (don't know if I call it right) - I wanted to keep right size and curvature radius, according to comic books. Next I made layer of glass fiber fabrics impregnated with epoxy. Next was 4 or 5 layers of papier mache, next another layer of glass fiber fabrics impregnated with epoxy ( static.diary.ru/userdir/2/9/6/… ). Next - putty, next shield was sanded and painted.
Second made of disc for slide from a icy hill (I really can't explain it on english, this thing: twitpic.com/bz2dus ) I leveled edges with insulating foam and finish with putty. 3D star from this tutorial: rubberstamping.about.com/od/pr…
