This is an entry for an inking contest found here: [link] The original unpublished Dreamwave BW pencil work by Don Figueroa can be found there as well.Overall, I enjoyed doing the piece....but that second panel was KILLER. X/ I say total inking time (because I couldn't do this all in one day because of schoolwork) was about 8-9 hours. Second panel (Shum, you're right
took about 3-4 hours to complete...and that vortex was tricky.After this experience, I've learned alot and of course, have a deeper appreciation of the Inker's role in the comic book process.
Anwyays, back to bleh finals til the end of the month...

Very cool, and nice job! I do think that there could be more shadows, like in the first frame maybe. Although I don't know if there's supposed to be alot of light at that point in the comic or not, but it does seem very bright because of the lack of them. And if there was bright light it might make darker shadows, depending on the source or sources.

I agree that the first panel could have a bit more done to it, but I decided against it considering how I didn't want to:
a) stray too far away from the original lines
b) I imagined the ship being being dimly lit, hence the lack of any definite shadows (besides of course the light from the sparks)
Hope this cleared up my crazy way of thinking. XD
