Well, I suppose it didn't have the largest impact in that Fire Emblem, but it DID effect your critical avoid. (that is, the higher your luck is, the lower your enemy's crit chance will be)

But out of all the stats, it was the most fickle, as luck is. Sometimes it helps, other times you wish a few more points were put into speed instead

Yeah, I'm a big fan. I've played that one, Sacred Stones, Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn, and Awakening.

I've been a little wary of the series lately, particularly because I bought Sacred Stones as my first game, but the subsequent games I bought seemed to be among the lesser entries in the series, namely Radiant Dawn and Shadow Dragon. I've had my eye on Awakening for some time now, but with my past experiences, I need solid proof that it's fun to play, like a demo or something

you didn't enjoy Radiant Dawn? It was so good! Shadow Dragon is shit though... awakening is worth it though

I didn't enjoy Radiant Dawn's amount of crap units, and the fact that you can only use your preferred units at certain points in the game with no early inclination of when their access will be removed on you

crap units is a subjective term, but I can understand how the unit access (or lack thereof) could be irritating. I personally liked the game though.

I suppose I would define crap units as units as either
A) You don't get to use them all that much, so you don't get much time to level them if they're rather squishy to begin with
B) Their stat gains are rather terrible (like they gain contradicting stat gains, like a knight with a lot of luck instead of def or a mage with a lot of con instead of mag)
And if it's the case of both, I don't hesitate to ignore them

I would say that Radiant Dawn is filled with awkward units, like Meg, who is a knight with luck and resistance, etc. I can see where you're coming from, but I still liked Radiant Dawn
