I tend to annoy my husband by going out in front of him so he/little children aren't in shot, then suddenly freezing right in front of him to take the photo

One shot I'd love to set up is one where lots of people are all moving about but one person is stood still,looking at the camera. Use a long exposure so the rest of the people are a blur.

Would that involve one person standing very still, or is there another technique? You just need to persuade your wife/partner/other-very-still-person to be a statue

Yeah, tunnel through time. XD It does look like that though--the light reflecting off the floor and the ceiling especially makes it look like that cliche of how time-warp is (or going through a wormhole. That image of blue light and all is used all the time...)
