Description
The ink monster let out a powerful roar that shook through the bodies of all who fought it. Krys and Aura charged in, side by side, lunging with the last of their strength. All or nothing. The Eclipse swatted them away with a pen-tip claw. The knights were sent flying away, defeated.

They splashed into a puddle of ink. Everything ached in Kry's body. But he wouldn't be defeated. He began getting up, his ankle flared up in pain. Aura grabbed his wrist. Krys looked down, "How can I rest while the fight isn't over?" he snapped.

"We lost..." Krys looked closer at Aura's face. She was crying, she never cried. "I wasn't strong enough to banish the darkness."

"Aura, you fought valiantly. It was my performance that wasn't. If my stupid ankle wasn't broken!" Krys pounded his fist into the ink. "If only I could just-" Krys raised his arm. A tiny shard of ices swirled into existence. An ache shocked him throughout his body. Krys reeled his hand back, ice shard dropping uselessly into the ink.

"I-it's their fight now. Knights who can't-" Aura's eyes teared up. Sounds of the fight echoed throughout the haunted inky library. The room was scattered by pokemon who have fallen in battle, and pokemon who were still giving it their all. "We have failed our duty. Luna was lost and we can no longer stand up."

"Girintina's bum!" Krys tried to kick into the air, but his limbs burned with every movement. Krys hated that he let some dumb god win. He wanted to deck them in the face. But Aura... her uncharacteristic tears shook him to his core. He turned to her. "At the very least, it was an honor to fight by your side." Krys smiled from beneath his shattered and scratched up mask.

"Likewise." Aura's eyes met her partner's. Her performance was lacking, but she fought till the end.

A little thing I wrote, as even if Krys and Aura are highly trained nights, two pokemon verse the eclipse are going to get their butts kicked. This was inspired by that Madoka magica scene of Homura and Madoka laying together holding their soul gems, if you know you know. Also, I might have forgotten the arm brace, so they fell off in an attack, and now it's just floating in the ink.
