Description It's just a disk embedded in a rock. The arrow points to another disk in another rock about 65 feet away. That disk is known as PISGAH 1938. It marks the top of Mt. Pisgah, which is really much more of a small plateau than a mountain. There are tens (hundreds?) of thousands of these disks embedded all over the United States for surveying purposes. Some are for marking landmarks, some for marking elevation precisely, and some for marking horizontal location on the earth's surface to within millimeters of accuracy.
