Description Scientific Name: Formicavoro sp.
A primitive synapsid related to Edaphosaurus native to Skull Island. Unlike the herbivorous Edaphosaurus, Termitosaurus instead is an insectivore, breaking open termite mounds with its claws and specialized long "canine" teeth, they then use their long sticky tongue to catch the insects. They grow 4 to 5.3m(13.1 to 17.3 ft) in length, making them the largest insectivore on the island. The colorful sail along the back is used by males for display, females having duller sails.
