HISTORY:
Gemshine is the daughter of Rosequartz and Woodpolish. Gemshine is quite, socially awkward, and to herself. Like most foals Gemshine also likes being outdoors, whether it's camping, fishing, or going for a run. Gemshine's parents grew up in Neigh Town and even worked in the Rainbow Mines. But when the Mines were closed and the town died her parents moved to Whinnysota where she and her little sister, Ruby, were born. After the Crystal Empire was saved Gemshine and her family took a trip there to be apart of the Equestria Games. But it wasn't the games that caught Gemshine's eye. It was the empire itself. Everything was shinning and sparkling, even the ponies. It was the most beautiful place she had ever seen. Her father bought her a sovenier crystal necklace to remind her of the experience, which she never takes off. And so began Gemshine's love for crystals and gems. Soon after returning home her parents learned, through word of mouth, that their old hometown was coming back to life and was trying to get back to the luster it once was. After confirming what they heard was true her parents packed them up and they all moved back to Neigh Town.
Gemshine wasn't upset by the move. She didn't have any friends to leave behind and for her it was a new adventure in a new place. Her father set up his carpenter shop and her mother stayed home with Ruby. Gemshine's new school seemed like a nice place, but just like her old school she had a hard time making alot of friends. This didn't bother her too much she was used to being by herself, plus she still had Ruby. The new town gave her alot of places to explore and she'd spend her afternoons by herself wandering around the foot hills or the beach. It was on one of these expeditions that she stumbled into a small crack in a rock face and fell into a small cave pocket filled with many different colored gems and crystals. The place reminded her of her visit to the Crystal Empire. She decided to make it her secret place, where she'd go when she was upset or alone, finding comfort in the shining gems.
