That's the way she keeps it
The one way she feels safe
From you
She looks so put together
You'd never guess the truth
That when she's alone
She falls
Broken into pieces
A disaster of epic size
So lost
Fitted back together
Glass kept whole by glue
Still fragile
Waking down the hallways
Never certain smile
Looking like she hates
The world
Behind the quirky face
And somber, timeless eyes
Lives a tragedy so deep
She's lost where sadness lies
Once more
No one comprehends it
If they even see
The cracks and chips of last time
She fell
But look a little deeper
Go beyond just what you see
And you'll find something unexpected
Something you never thought you'd see
She appears to be so normal
But stands out tall and lonely
What you think is just a girl
Has now turned out to be
An Angel

Nice poem and theme and descriptive wording...it reminds me of entirely how I felt when I was in a stage of sinning. No one has a clue that you're hurting because you wear a smile and keep acting like nothings wrong and you'd never want anyone to know what you've done. I don't know, it touched me and brought back sorrowful memories...

I agree! I know a lot of people who hide behind a smile, even I do because when I smile, I try to hide any pain or greif I'm going thrugh. The main reasson I hide behind it is because I don't want people to have to worry about me! So everyday I walk around with a smile on my face and my head held high. But the main reasson is because I know who I am and I know where and why I belong in this world! I am here to bring smiles to my friends, cause if you are happy then they are happy!
The reasson I love this poem is because a lot of people say that I act like one, that I bring cheer them and I make them happy when they are sad or down!
