Description This was the first colored pencil drawing I had done after a near 10 year hiatus--yikes yes that long
But a friend bought me the BIG box of Berol Prismacolors, so I had to!
This is from a photo by Robert Vavra, I believe it can be found in his book "Equus"
His photographs are amazing!

you managed to show a pegasus even without his wings - that's fantastic!
you had to have a really inspiring reference - you managed to show the horse with such details that I see how much love you put in it
only one thing (not about the anatomy ) - dark nose and neck are pleading for a lighter background - the horse would "stuck out" from the piece
still wonderful drawing!

thank you for your compliment and I appreciate the critique, were I to do it again I would add a highlight around the darker areas to make them more distinguishable

as for the reference, it is from a photo by Robert Vavra, from either the book "Equus" or "Horses of the Sun"

oohh... Robert Vavra with his wonderful equine photos... no wonder you wanted to show their beauty
and thank you for your words many people don't like any critic and I just can't only say "lovely blah blah blah " that's a problem with me then

I would rather someone offer constructive criticism if they have a helpful one, sometimes I can see a tip to offer, other times I just see that I like the work

it's not a problem you have-lol, you are very polite about your opinion

Shiny mane! Awesome coloring! I love her/his eye and nose, looks so real. (neck looks a bit strange, but I didn't seen the original pic. Sometimes the reality can look a bit strange to)

oh, ya, this was the first serious colored pencil drawing I had done in about 10 years at the time, so it is a little sloppier than I had hoped, but considering the long hiatus, I was still pretty psyched!
you know you have been lazy too long when it's a struggle :-P
but the color was so fun to do!

I can't even imagine to put down my pencils for such a long time. Well if I'm dead or something like that, but otherwise....

But you've come back to the 'light side'! You started again, and you're awesome (:
Once I had to stop for a few months because my hand was ill, it was hard to make something creative after such a brake... (and after the depression that the lack of drawing, and writing caused) But after 10 years, to began again it seams like a heroic act.

ohh, I always thought so too, but alot happened and between lack of time and well, depression to be honest, I just didn't do anything for a long long time

Thank you so much! I really enjoyed doing it, it was a bit of a challenge, seeing as I hadn't done any serious drawing in a long time before it.
