This is a beautiful picture, it's composed really nicely, the reflection of the sky and leaves on the water add interest, the way the ripples break up the reflection helps to create a serene feeling. The foccus on the subject is perfect and the gentle blur in the background adds to the sereneness of the photo. The only thing that detracts somewhat is the amount of white in the upper portion of the picture, i understand that it may be something that may not be able to be helped, but if it can be maybe think about it?

This reminds me of the tale of the Ugly Duckling, except this swan is quite elegant and fluffy looking

Yes its an adolescent, left the nest and fending for itself, but still witht he grey down left. would be another few months before its white feathers started coming through.
This > [link] we think, is the same family, maybe even the same bird, taken about 3 years apart, yet they alway nest in the ecact same place. And they do mate for life. this second photo was taken about a metre away from the first
