Description This is a painting I was inspired to do for my Grandpa, who has had declining health. I wanted to incorporate interests and current joys in his life. This artwork is formed through the golden proportion (the ratio of nature that is exalted in love, bridging life and death) and consists of an Osprey ("fish hawk") in flight over the Bavarian Alps. Looking out from the castle of the structure of one's life, the soul is made aerial and the fears we hold are let go of... as we fly into the spiral sky.

acrylic 16x20

This is love: to fly toward a secret sky, to cause a hundred veils to fall each moment.
First to let go of life.
Finally, to take a step without feet.

Can you submit a scheme of how you did it with the golden ptoportion?

Simply measured out the golden rectangle/spiral onto the canvas and built the structure of the painting on those proportions.

i know, but i ask if you have a sketch with it or something like that, or if you can to do a scheme on the scanned painting, with freehand or photoshop. i like to see it, and i think that this can be interesting for the people. What do you think?

Yes, but soon I will be converted back to Adenosine Tri-Phosphate via an exergonic reaction. Yes, I will regain the lost phosphate bond that I miss so dearly and will become the energy currency of the cell once more. Then, and only then, can I be used to catalyze protein synthesis and drive forth active transport through cell membranes. Alas, then I will return to my lowly ADP status once again.

I dont know about this one dude, you work is always breath-taking.

Were you in a hurry to get this done? the detailing is ignored..one more question, is the eagle anatomically correct?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Adam-Scott-Miller In reply to Ubenta [2005-08-03 14:14:11 +0000 UTC]

Ha, yeah you know my work pretty well Sensei Ubenta. Yes, I was in a real hurry, the painting was concepted and birthed within a span of 24 hours.
The Osprey is basically anatomically correct except for the indiscernible legs, which were not in the reference and I had forgotten to clarify before having to leave for Virginia to visit my Grandfather.
