Description Powergirl keeps a lonely Captain Atom company, with her reasoning being that since everyone has to be somewhere, she just decided to be where he is, and his presence is entirely coincidental.

Borrowing a little inspiration from the old DC Universe 'Generation Lost' story where in a flashback, Powergirl keeps Captain Atom company while both are being faintly surly to each other, but are still keeping each other company.

I feel that these two were a missed opportunity for a romance in DC that had some actual ground to build on ( even having the classic romantic cliche of them not being on best terms when they first met ) , so i take what snippets of time these two have in the comics where i can.

Funny thing is the only characters i think would have been credible as a romantic interests for the old DC universe Powergirl were in her 'friends' category, both Captain Atom and Atlee/Terra would in my opinion, have felt genuine, far more so than any of the actual romantic affairs Powergirl has had in the comics since 1987.

Besides, I think these two compliment each other, especially visually.

In my fanfic DC Universe, Captain Atom and Power Girl do fall in love and become a couple!

Oh heck, they're the Nick and Nora Charles of DC! See [link] for reference!

Myrna Loy as Nora was always the wisecracking yet lovable wife/companion to William Powell's Nick Charles detective through a myriad of "Thin Man" comedy/adventures in the 1930's and 40's, They are a classic couple, Nora always the wise one, Nick Charles the urbane one.

In powers, both Kara and Captain Atom complement each other, another missed opportunity for DC.

Many Hollywood films have used the "Thin Man" formula in their plots, its a good one that works well. And the two great lead actors went on to do some marvelous films over the years. Think of Myrna Loy as the veteran's wife in "Best Years of Our Lives" and William Powell as 'Doc' in "Mister Roberts", his last film.

Of course, use the "Thin Man" any way you want!

I've always thought of them as both having an interest in each other, but refusing to admit it openly, instead trading remarks at each other whenever they have the chance
