Brainiac is for possibly the first time in his existance, confused. His sensors detected the humanoids voice but no presence. He is futher confused when he finds himself being tossed around like a rag doll "Error error altering scan..scan failure...locate threat...how can this be"

Suddenly his programs begin to fail, connections fall apart as his crystal body is blown apart by forces he can not easily process, he sees the containment crystal chamber shatter, releasing the Kryptonian.

Finally opting for a simple visual scan he sees...a small female coated in a thin layer of his own fortress...making her invisible to all but his most basic of senses.

"Payback for the shock, Creep!" Atlee cries as she shatters Brainiacs shell.

A moments silence passes as both Kara and Atlee catch their breath. And then, Brainiac speaks once more from the fortress itself

" Child...do you believe by destroying one of my constructs you have beaten me, i could create a thousand if i so -

Atlee interupts " Let us leave of i'll destroy this entire rock, i'll obliterate and shatter and warp everything that you are, i can do it"

silence...

" My scans indicate you are telling the truth...i...will...agree to your terms... The Kryptonian is of no value without my own survival."

The fortess itself ripples and moves as the exit route is now open to them, Kara, tired and drenched puts her arm on Atlee.

"I owe you" she says with as much of a smile as her numb face can manage.

"We're even" Atlee replies.

Kara looks up,

"Brainiac, before we go, i need you to do something for me, then we'll never come here again"...

There was always meant to have been a Brainiac encounter in this story but i struggled at first to think of how best to beat him. And then i realised that the Crystal technology Brainiac i had created had a fatal vulnerability to say, an individual who can manipulate rocks, crystal and so on on a near planetary scale if so provoked.

This also meant i could have Terra play the hero of the hour when all looked lost for Powergirl, and with her geo-powers she is a rather formidable sidekick/partner.

This picture marks her first actual appearance out of her space suit, and with the durable Krypton crystal membrane she coated herself with i now have an excuse for her to be out of the space suit if i feel like it
