He's definitely a hero.

I agree with your opinion of New 52 Superman. Fortunately, the classic Superman has returned!Β
Hell, even New 52 Supes was getting better characterization before he died. Calling himself, Bruce and Diana the Super Friends...that one just cracked me up.Β

I'm curious how this will play out now with the more inspiring version of Superman taking the stage, i hope the writers don't mess him up.

There's also a good moment where Kem-L tries to force Superman to embrace his Kryptonian heritage at the expense of his "human" upbringing, constantly calling him "Kal-El" and going on and on about how unworthy humans are. Supes' response?
"My name is Clark Kent. Get out of my home. Get off my planet."

Well considering I have been reading a lot of the New 52 since the beginning, especially the Action Comics by Greg Pak I think they understand the point of Superman to me he's just an honest man who's trying to do good and they really nailed his connection to his peers and he often been trying to resolve problems without violence often which is another positive for me. In recent event despite his lower power I like that he's still trying to protect others despite being weaker showing his willingness to self sacrifice. My only gripe is that they tend to play up his loner attitude as Clark Kent but that has faded out in the recent issues. Though I really miss his relationship with Lois Lane. In terms of relatability I've always related to Superman more than Batman even Batman acknowledged that Superman is more human than him.
Though still New 52 is a great Superman but it still doesn't live exactly up to what I call the definitive Superman such as Grant Morrison's All Star Superman in fact all of the Superman stories by Grant Morrison are just amazing.
That's just my honest opinion on it.

Fair enough. I've always felt that while he is meant to be a regular guy ( with powers ), he is also a regular guy who generally goes one better in his actions, taking the course of action we like to think we would take, rather than the one we probably would if we had powers, which makes him inspirational but still a character you can relate to. I can't help but think that tends to get ignored recently in the comics.

True I believe they could play up his Samaritan personality, it's still there but its often subtle such as him casually stopping a robbery however they played up his doubts in what he thinks is the right decision even he tends to make mistakes over what he thought was the right choice only for it to end up in a worst outcome making him a bit doubtful but he still tries to stay positive.
One really interesting thing happened in this month's Action Comics, a peaceful protest was going on and the police attempted to stop the protest by threatening them Superman stands his ground for the people acting as a shield for them, the officers proceed to beat him down but he doesn't fight back just takes all their hits and tries to convince them to let the protestors protest in peace it was a very good issue showing how far he would go for the people of earth even if it meant humiliation for him.
But one really intriguing character that deconstructs Superman was The Samaritan from Vertigo Comics Astro City series, his constant heroing may have made him a inspirational figure but he never has time to sleep or relax he has a very high sense of morality but is constantly tired he even has a Having a bio-organic computer in his brain that constantly monitors the the world and alerts him of every bad thing that's happening. He's basically the type of character that you want to root for but you feel that he deserves a relaxing ending.

Exactly where I've been coming from. Superman was born an alien, but was raised human as an infant thanks to his wise and caring foster parents. What made Superman a great hero was his own foundations in humanity, and to see Superman act all angsty, and cold, or just plain bitter in the New52 is just... not Super.

Pretty much, i'm still trying to work out how he could be held in high respect by his fellow Superheroes as the benchmark to measure up to.

Even Batman had made similar quotes about Superman.
"Many see Clark as a god. And we're lucky that he doesn't see himself as one."

"Having an occasional look at the New 52 Superman comics, i kind of struggle to see how the current New 52 incarnation ever managed to inspire anyone in the New 52 DC universe, being at times intimidating, curiously arrogant, and due to his recent lower power levels a physically threatening bruiser. It is a little hard to square this with a character who previously would often try to appeal to peoples better natures and whose presence actually reassured people that things would work out ( you know, the whole 'hope' thing )."
I love you.

It is right in everything he said. I remember the time when especially among the superhero Superman was an example of integrity, justice and humanity, was a more just human, moral and ethic values ββhigher, that above all NEVER killed or down to same level as the villains who fought, remember that he was especially criticized by readers of new generation fans of "Heroes" more violent that the main "fault" Superman beyond the underwear out of colan was just that he was "just right too much "and how he responded to it in his duel against" The Elite "and as he said at the end that" not wanted his heroes were ugly, evil and who like to kill. " The Superman was once theΒ greatestΒ and most emblematicΒ symbol of what was to be a superhero but is no longer so today Superman DC Universe New 52 is just a brute, without any kind of moral values ββand integrity who only are interested in hitting first and after dialogue, which has no hesitation in using deadly force against opponents with no regard for the consequences or with humans around, that during a fight against powerful opponents do not give a damn about the innocent around finally happened what Alex Ross predicted in "Kingdom Come". The DC became the Image Comics' 90s with his "superheroes Grim and Gritty" flexing muscles and gnashing their teeth in menacing faces and Superman became "Magog" and broke the neck of General Zod in the movie "Man of Steel "and will now have a deadly duel with Batman in" Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice "which is regrettable because it hears a time he served as inspiration. But not for this generation of young people whose heroes look more like villains and play video games in the "heroes" pluck members of the enemies, shoot in the head and torture ...

It does generally seem easier to relate to Superman than Batman, powers or not ( although i keep thinking that some writers were trying to play up the 'i'm so woeful, i can never be one of those humans, and no one understands me' idea for Superman in the comics in the 2000's that just came across as odd ).
