Not sure they are thistles, at least not proper ones, but it's a really nice picture, especially the tiny golden lights on the slate background... Good shot!

I don't know their name, but it's some sort of bur, that usually gets stuck in the fur of the dog's legs in the field. They're only pretty when they are in one piece.
