And another great reimagined version. I've seen the Legends Carrier form of the CR90 corvette and this one looks a lot better to be honest. While the profile is enlarged by the hangars compared to the original ship I must say I can't speak against the idea of this model.
However, I wonder about the name change, as it is quite obviously a CR-90 variation but then again, you are doing this for a Star Wars Board Game so I can't tell whether that is just a continuity change similar to the others or something like that.
However, I would like to point out that the sparse weaponry, especially since the weapons are likely the same was on the normal CR-90, would be detrimental, especially since that armament consists of Turbolaser, not Laser Cannons for point-defense for screening, something a Corvette should be good at and which a Carrier seriously needs.
I am also curious about the visible pods on the bottom side of the vessel, are those escape pods like the one where C3-P0 and R2-D2 escaped in? Or are they a sort of deployment rig similar to those of Battlestars?

he did it for me.
There is no name change, this is a theoretical further modification of the FarStar. What continuity are you talking about?Β This is all made up!
As for weaponry, in me brain of me, you cant just stick on more guns without internal modification and internal space.Β the inside changes are all for more deck space.
yes, thise pods are escape pods, all CR90s have them.Β

Ah, I may have forgotten the name of the modified CR-90 that was in Legends.
As for continuity, I was referring to the fact that the ship was based on a Legends Continuity vessel and as I said, I kind of missed the part about this being directly a reimagining of the CR-90 Carrier-type vessel that was seen in legends rather than a variation of the class directly.
Regarding the weapons, the CR-90 has Turbolaser, replacing them at least with some Laser cannons would be useful especially since carriers normally shouldn't be used as frontline assault warships like Star Wars does, especially when they are very small ones.
As for the "More Weapons" thing, considering laser takes less gas to fire than Turbolaser, both being plasma weapons rather than an actual laser, it wouldn't actually mean that more laser compared to the number of Turbolaser would need more gas storage to work. What I criticised is the lack of point-defense on the ship as it doesn't actually have laser cannons.

What improvements would you make towards the Mark III version?Β

I see the Mark III as an almost near rebuild from the keel up due to excessive battle damage.Β Imagine all that is left is the central super structure and the engines.
In our game, we were able to pull of some amazing victories (check my gallery for some of the scenes) but also we got beat the frak up all the time.Β Our final battle with Sarne went down something like this: Over the course of the campaign, we had galvanized several planets in the Kathol System to form their own government, the Kathol Republic, and to begin to develop a military.Β Slow going to be sure, but eventually we ran into a decent size force of descenters from Sarne's Fleet and were able to draw them to our side.Β Once our alliance was set, we took all the Kathol forces we could carry, our force, and this ex-Imperial squadron and went with them in what was to be their rendezvous with Sarne before he lobbied other Imperial for support.Β As the battle ensued, we knew that our little capital ship was like the little brother who tries to with his big brother's friends to be part of a school yard fight.Β We were in poor shape at the end, but that is where the campaign ended.
So, we never got to my idea of the Mark III.Β Actually we never even got to Mark II.Β It is hard to describe, but imagine the engines stay the same size, but the rest of it is a corvette that has been inflated.Β More decks, slightly longer, wider, but I am picturing since you are almost effectively building from scratch, she has the flight deck but has the contours of a classic corvette and is engineered to keep her positive attributes.

This is ultimate gamer wish fulfillment. Β We never got to do this in our campaign. Here is what she would have looked like!
