Description This is going to be my first ever project in Valve's popular Source Filmmaker - the same tool used to produce their games' marketing and cutscene animations.
As a fairly new TF2 player I thought i'd play on the gameplay mechanic between Medic and Heavy - they both work together extremely well and the thought of the pair having a close friendship isn't hard to fathom.

This still was an experiment into posing, lighting a scene, rendering from SFM and applying post production.

For colour correction and the rocket FX I rendered out a 32bpc TARGA from SFM, then converted this into TIFF format into Photoshop before sending it into After Effects.
FX applied are a curves and slight desaturation for colour correction, and for the rocket tails I made custom flares in Video Copilot's Optical Flares, blurring these with Frischluft's Depth of Field plugin to match the scene's shallow depth of field.

This will be an ongoing short film project that I will work on in my spare time. I hope you enjoy this image for now, and feel free to let me know what you think.

Hehe, awesome job so far! This is precisely the reason why I love this and this fandom so much, it's because of people like you who make fantastic works like this all the time. I wish I had a pc capable of playing source film maker because the end results are too awesome. I wish you luck for the rest of this project, and welcome to the fandom!

Oh thank you, you're so kind! In all honesty i've just gotten into this now but have experience with generic motion graphics from before, so it's pretty easy for me to pick up.
Maybe i'll be up there with the greats some day Saxxy pls

Thanks buddy, you too.
And yeah, I tend to render stills to 2560x1440 as i'm using a monitor of the same resolution, makes for sweet wallpapers, and can easily be scaled down to 1080p or 720p

Feel free to use this as a desktop wallpaper, it's a 16x9 aspect ratio. You may need to scale it down to 1920x1080 if you have a 1080p display.
