Environment concept for my story. This is a street in San Francisco, 100 years after the war that killed almost all of humanity.Most images of the apocalypse are always barren wastelands, I prefer the idea that nature would just take back the land and become balanced again over time.

first of all, amazing work.
and second, first you would probably have a barren wasteland but as you say, nature would take back the land.
the years it would take depends on how much damage people would have done.

Really nice. The carpet of grass blanketing the street and shooting up through the cracked pavement is a nice touch. I agree with you that too many apocalyptic scenarios involve barren wastelands. I prefer the overgrown ruin look myself, it seems more practical that nature would just reclaim the world. It also has a bit of poetic justice, that nature wins over man in the end when man struggled so hard to win out over nature.

This is so amazing... I love how you got the street intersection as well as the texture of the forage. I especially like the contrast of the trees near the middle of the picture, it just looks so sharp.

Have you seen 'life after people'? interesting what if scenario, talks about how stuff changes without our influence.
