Description
This is an old rifle belonging to my son. I thought some might be interested in a little bit of Australian hisrory. More information can be found here [link]It is a short magazine Lee- Enfield 303 rifle (SMLE)
Various models used through WW1 & WW2
This particular rifle was Australian made at Lithgow in 1942.
Although the date on the stock is 1947, this is just an armoury marking.
It was in service until the mid fifties.

Hmm these are very interesting prospective wise.... you definately take extrodinary pics, Does your son collect guns? I try to collect things then I find a new hobby and forget to keep collecting....

Thank you. No he doesn't actually collect guns, it's more like a collection of things to do with war. He has photographs and medals among other things.
