Description
A chapter-break/ title-page illustration from the upcoming second volume of my "sexy superhero comedy," EMPOWERED. Note that, in the printed version, the scrawled text at the top of the page will be replaced by a typeset font.In this story: Excitement abounds as Ninjette plays a videogame (as this image might suggest), while the Caged Demonwolf barrages her with wise gameplay counsel... But what game could it be? Can you guess? Find out for sure in EMPOWERED vol. 2, due out in September of '07!
I just spent the last few weeks grinding my way through the last few stories to be included in EMP vol. 2; now, I only have to crank out the chapter-break pieces, the title spread and the back-cover (color) illustration... Stay tuned, for I'll be posting most of these pieces as I finish 'em.

Such a cool concept. lol She wouldn't get much playing done as her controllers aren't plugged in.
I love the motion and fluidity of her lines. The sense she's flipping/spinning comes across well. I really like the shading/highlights on her hair and outfit. Trying to study that myself.
This reminds me of a time when my friend was having a night terror. We turned off the lights to go to bed and here a bunch of movement. Turn them back on and he's in the corner holding the controller like a knife. Glazed look in his eye. It's was pretty scary at the time considering he was asleep but it's funny to look back on.

Go right ahead (and lemme know how it works out)! Just watch out for all the shuriken, as I imagine that even plastic ones would be annoyingly "pokey" as part of a costume. Then again, given how little I know of the ways of cosplay, I might be way off-base, here.

Oh I have these really nice rubber ones we use in training, much nicer than plastic on the skin. Unless it's being driven into your eye socket or between your ribs of course... which is basically the fun things to do with them

I got a copy of Volume 1 of Empowered in Liverpool on Tuesday and I have to say that it's your best work since Dirty Pair and Drama Queen Roxy, Mr Warren!
I'll say this about Ninjette, the only one of Mr Warren's creations that has a ass that damn good has to be Deidre from the Dirty Pair mini series [and I was gutted that she got offed by Shasti as she was a bit of a hottie in my opinion!

With that use of the controller's wire she's got to be playing Red Ninja...but the idea that somebody else besides me may have actually sat through the horror of that buggy game makes me doubt myself.
