Never liked how 'easy' these images make it out to kill Deadboys. If mutants, augments and Debees are literally this dangerous that a platoon or squad of equipped, trained, professional infantry is so much chopped liver, makes you wonder how its so easy for the CS to keep its citizens scared witless.
I might be biased being an Infanteer myself, and the fact that in a mega damaged world people with exposed squishy bits always seem to not get vaporised.
Anyway, good art.

Two things: One, Psythe is the commander of an elite team of asskickers. They may happen to be mutants, augs, and deebees, but they're also trained, equipped, and professional. Second, who says it's easy? Just because an image shows the CS losing, that doesn't say how difficult it was to get to that point. You can see whatever you want to see, is what I'm saying - the last moments of a long, arduous battle that could've gone either way, or a quick and dirty wipe that should embarrass these guys' training officers.

You are right, I see what I see, which is a fight where I see no casualties, challenge, or damage done or presented to one side, and a clean sweep of the other. A common theme not just in rifts to make characters seem powerful or 'badass' by brushing through faceless mooks. As a fan of those faceless mooks, be they deadboys, stormtroopers, or any other uniformed batch of hero fodder, its a theme that I never liked. Two cents spent, compliment given, challenged in my opinion, return issued.

The face of Psythe is pretty sweet. Is that scarring or a tattoo of sorts?

Actually it's something of a birth-mark. He's a mutant, but his 'mutation' isn't anything more than a physique that's a little more sinewy than normal (muscles look like twisting cords of rope under his skin) and that patterned birthmark all over his body.
And yeah, the face was my favorite part of this. That and the guy slitting the throat of the dog-boy soldier. That was fun to draw, too.

It's from the Rifts roleplaying game by Palladium Books. Post-apocalyptic sci-fi type stuff, though it's somewhat more complicated than that (as sci-fi RPGs often get).
Thanks for the 'rock on' devil-horns. You also rock, sir.
