P.S. You're right what you said: commercial it always is. Literature: missing. And there is really an awful lot of good literature.
It's everywhere the same: the lowest common denomator is most attractive to people.
God I miss Cairo. Wish I found a job there....but what can an artist do

You can find a job here if you have any degree in anything! You can teach english in an institution, or teach art in an american school..did you try that?

Thank you. Yes....a degree. Unfortunately my art 'degree' is a useless piece of paper from an obscure private art school in Switzerland and no English or American school will take me based on that. The only decent degree I have is Swiss primary school teacher (a job I gave up more than 16 years ago 
Did I tell you there was a school in Zamalek that wanted to take me on the spot? But it was a kindergarden class. I liked the name of the school though: Baby Home School

I actually liked the school and the head mistress. The thing was that she wanted me to start immediately and that would have been unfair to my present situation where I'd like to give three months notice, not to mention packing all my stuff and putting it in storage (and then hopefully moving it to Cairo. On my boxes it says 'Cairo' because in 2004 it was all packed to be moved!
