I saw your entry last week, I was also entered in uni... I looked for it when the results came in and I thought they must have deleted it. Such a shame, yours was my favourite entry ):

The explanation was "you either copied it, cheated via voting or entered it in the wrong category." None of those really applied to me so I resubmitted it last night + another entry of mine (my Zafara on the same account) both ended up rejected because "You either didn't change anything or there were problems viewing it."
I don't know why they would delete my Zafara entry but I guess that narrows it down to the "entered in the wrong category" thing, so they must be cracking down on pets looking like the neopet they are supposed to be. Because meanwhile on another account my Grarrl got in just fine and I can only assume it's because he actually looks a lot like his species; a faerie grarrl. 
I get the feeling I'm not the only one they've been cracking down on either. Last time I entered in a beauty contest was months ago and returning to it, there's significantly less entries today and last week.

Yeah, my entry was rejected several times before it was let in, you can see the original in my gallery, Amanda said that she rejected it cause it 'looked more like a mythical horse/unicorn than a uni" and that it was too realistic. Its a bit annoying cause there are entries this week that are simply cartoon ponies with no horns or wings or features that would otherwise distinguish them as a uni, yet they seemed to get in no problem. In the end I had to slap a pair of wings on for her to reluctantly accept it. In the past I swear it was never so strict - I saw realistic uni entries get it all the time, not to mention numerous photomanipulations badly disguised as drawings or paintings. What's frustrating is that I deliberately tried to draw in a non-realistic/cartoon style for the BC and it still wasn't good enough.
The only thing I can think of is that your entry doesnt have wings or a horn, although there are entries that still get in with one or the other or none at all, so who knows. You could always email Amanda if you want a proper explaination c:

Yeah.. it doesnt really make sense, it seems that they're not always very consistent when they go through the entries, its a bit of a shame really.
Amanda is contest_judge, she's the one who runs the whole thing. You can email her at amandaw@neopets.com. I emailed her about my entry and she replied pretty quickly, shes very nice and helpful but its a bit frustrating having to change your entry etc. when you've seen ones before that are more or less the same.

Still, it's better to know why and be able to fix it than it is to be frustratingly left in the dark. I really just wish the rejection from the BC was more specific; if they think you cheated the rejection neomail should say "we think you cheated", if they think your entry isn't neopets enough then it should only say that. @___@
I need to create a new BC image for my uni anyways. I had two people tell me it was in a very Spirit-like style and that's two too many people for me. Especially when one of them accused me of tracing @3@;

Yeah, it must get a bit repetitive after a while.
They really do need a new system, I mean its not like they need to write out an individual NM for each case, they could just have a bunch of pre-written ones and select the reason from a drop-down menu. It is so annoying being rejected and having no idea why!
And I'm sorry, but that's ridiculous, your style looks nothing like Spirit at all! I think some people see any cartoon horse and just associate it with Spirit. I've had my style associated with Spirit too but I dont see any resemblance. There are only so many ways you can draw a cartoonised horse so what can you do?

Yeah exactly @A@ The reasons I could piece together why I was rejected was a little dumb and included "well if they thought I cheated I imagine they'd frozen me by now" as a reason xD
Yeah that's how I feel =A= I feel like the only reason people would say that is because I draw a horse cartoony without confusing its anatomy with wolf anatomy or something >:I I'll be troubled if my style becomes truly Spirit-like.

Nah not particularly. I loved it when I was really young, but then they started changing the maps... adding new stuff... at first it wasn't SO bad, until Nickelodeon got involved and it became a site all about ads and money. Or maybe I just outgrew it. I think it's both. D:

I'm surprised you RP there. I just got a warning there for doing inappropriate roleplaying but I haven't roleplayed on neopets in months. If I can get warnings for roleplaying then IT IS OPEN SEASON ON ROLEPLAYERS.
