This if by far my favourite of your drawings. I love the expressiveness of his face, the shading, the delicacy of the hair strands... :3

I just know I've had that expression on my face before....
Once my next shipment of books arrives, I'm sure I'll defend them like that as well. Anyone who'd be foolish enough to approach my books would earn the "glare of doom", just like the one Prince Luke is giving here. I'm sure his books are way more precious than mine, though.
Excellent work! His hand looks a bit too long to me, but then again, he's not human, so maybe human anatomy does not apply. I love the shading on his hair, though, and the glare. You really have given him wonderful eyes. I can never manage to give my drawings an expression, but you can really see his emotions in his face. Wonderful work on his hands, too. I always find hands difficult to draw, so I'm very impressed at the amount of work and detail you have put into them.
It's one of those drawings that really inspires me and makes me want to draw as well.

I found your works several years ago and totally fell in love with them!
Especially I admire the story of Luke and all these years sometimes I have some of your works as background for my comp)
u know, I write a book where is a story about two elven princes-twins (Silmas and Nigel). They had Π° very happy childhood in theirs precious ElfLand until one quarrel happened.
Silmas wanted to cure his friend by black magic (it was the last hope to save her), but his father said, that never in his country the words of black magic would be pronounced. And Naigel stood at his side. so, the girl died and Silmas's resentment and anger were so strong, that he left his country. After some time he became a dark wizard and one day returned to his country aimed to kill his brother to replace him. But after duel they reconciled and Silmas returned as the second elvenking)
and when I look at your works I see my charecters in Luke (when he is happy and kind - Nigel, and when he is little mad and pretty dark - Silmas).
Your works inspired me to write more and more stories about this fantasy world. thank u very much and continue to create such wonderfull things!!!
p.s. if I'm inspired by the stories about Luke, the most similar to my heros works of yours are [link] - for Silmas,
and this one for Nigel:

Aw, he's adorable! He kind of makes me think of what you'd expect a cranky little brother to be like when you try to take away his toy. It's like he's saying, "Mine! Don't touch!"
Well, that's just the feeling I get from it.

hello, i've been admiring your work for a long time now (i'm hoping to save enough to pay for a commission or something) and i was wondering if you could try to answer a problem i have; i am trying to draw with more detail and especially in black wand white shading, well the problem i have is that when i come to shade i cant get it looking seamless! for example; on this one i like how the shading on Luke's face blends well, especially the nose! any tips you have on how i can make the shade tones flow together better? (see the few shaded pics in my gallery and you see the state of my shading abilities >.<) i have a smudging stick with my pencils but i dont know if thats the right thing to use...

This particular piece is a mix of pencil and digital, but for my pencil work I just layer my shading. I use an 0.5 mechanical pencil, varying the angle depending on whether I want a soft or hard line. With mechanical pencils you have to add layers of shading to darken anything. But smudge sticks are useful as well, just don't overdo it or your work will look really smudgy. Maybe blend your bottom layer with a smudge stick and then shade over it until it's to your liking. I suggest maybe trying different pencils, also? Some are better for shading than others. I hope that helps! ^__^;
