“Oh no you don’t!” Nancy said to Basil, suddenly blocking his path. The fearless girl sleuth looked up at the lad as he towered above her. “You are going to have to come with me to see Sheriff McDonald!”
“Nance, what?” Basil replied, very confused. “Are you kidding?”
The young woman held her main suspect’s eye unflinchingly. “Not at all.” she replied seriously. “All the clues - timings, receipts, your mysterious storage unit, your website and your secret computer files Gina was able to hack, all tell me you are the thief, Baz!”
Nancy put a small but restraining hand on the young man’s chest.
“Sit down, Basil,” the detective told him.
