As the beep-beep-beep of the shoplifting alarm sounded in the Tokyo superstore, Alec and Ben stood in excruciating embarrassment as store detectives Himari Hamasaki and Iyumi Nishimura hurried to the offending barrier. The young women immediately took control. “Place your hands on your heads, please, gentlemen,” Himari ordered, her long dark ponytail swishing enticingly as she bent to examine the price tags on the goods that had set the alarms off.
Ben and Alec stood in the impotent “surrender” position while curious fellow-shoppers filmed them on their phones and the two short skirted and nyloned detectives conferred. The women soon established there were no technical faults and that the two tourists were indeed guilty of stealing the computer game upgrades they had surreptitiously dropped into their pockets.
“Put your hands behind your backs, please,” Iyumi told the captives politely but firmly. As the two guys became an unwilling internet sensation, Himari unhooked a pair of handcuffs from her skirt belt and took hold of Alec’s wrists, pulling them behind him.
“Couldn’t we go somewhere a little more private to do this, ma’am?” the lad asked sadly, looking around at the rows of shoppers recording his and Ben’s ignominy for their social media accounts.
“No, sir.” replied the serious looking Japanese woman simply.
