Description

"In the summer of 2013, a small, secretive branch of INTERPOL, known as the IFEB brought me to their attention. The IFEB (International Future Events Bureau) are the people entrusted with the secrets of future history retrieved from the files found within the remains of Mecha-King Ghidorah in 1991. Upon contacting me, they immediately permitted me access to some of their most secretive files, specifically, the “pacific. rim” files involving the “Breach Events”, rumored to be the largest series of kaiju attacks in the course of the 21st Century.

I was astonished to discover the truth: they wanted me, ancient and wizened though I have become, to act as an advisor to the imminent kaiju threat that will first come a few months from the time of this writing. The threat is remarkable: a series of kaiju attacks from another dimension, originating from a portal beneath the Pacific Ocean     known as “The Breach”. The kaiju, though resistant (but not immune) to conventional weaponry, and capable of being killed by nuclear weapons, will be repulsed by something less drastic than atomic armaments: a series of gigantic, cyberkinetically-controlled mechs known as the “Jaegers”. The Jaegers will almost exclusively be piloted by two emotionally close individuals – generally very close friends or family members – due to the cerebral hemorrhaging caused in a single pilot by the gigantic machine’s “programming feedback”. The war will endure for years, and the Jaeger pilots will enter the realms of legend…

In the year 2025, just a few days after the failure of the Anti-Kaiju Wall at the hands of Mutavore, an unprecedented Double Event in the Breach will unleash two Category 4 kaiju on the Earth, teamed up for a mission of destruction. Their target: Hong Kong, and a young kaijuologist named Newton Geiszler who will become famous as the first human to successfully undergo a Neural Link with a Breach Kaiju. As a result of this, Geiszler will discover the true nature of the kaiju: they are the hive-minded weapons of an advanced, extradimensional species that intends to use them to conquer Earth. The one-at-a-time attacks humanity is so used to are coming to an end; multiple Category 4 or 5 kaiju will soon be coming through the breach every few minutes. The jaegers cannot possibly hold out against such an attack. In hopes of obtaining a second kaiju brain to interpret, Geiszler will go to Hong Kong and meet with a black-market kaiju-parts dealer named Hannibal Chau. Unfortunately, the drift method also allow the kaiju to know where he is, and they will attempt to stop him.

The Jaegers Cherno Alpha, Crimson Typhoon, and Striker Eureka will be dispatched to deal with the two kaiju, with the latter ordered to stand its ground as the last line of defense.

The first kaiju to engage the Jaegers will be known as the Otachi, a vicious, serpentine beast that poses a terrifying threat to both Jaegers, not merely by brute force, but also by possessing an unprecedented intelligence and cunning. After a brief struggle, Crimson Typhoon’s head will be crushed by the kaiju’s clawed tail with surprising ease, but Cherno Alpha will prove somewhat more resilient. Otachi will eventually vomit a stream of extremely corrosive acid on the Russian Jaeger, crippling it and allowing her cohort Leatherback to finish it off.

Striker Eureka will then attack both kaiju single-handedly, and nearly kill Otachi before being incapacitated by Leatherback’s EMP organ. Otachi will head into Hong Kong to find Geiszler, leaving Leatherback to deal with the crippled Jaeger.

Though she will be seconds away from devouring the kaijuologist, Otachi will fail in her mission due to the timely arrival of Gipsy Danger. The American Jaeger will learn from its fallen cohorts, and use cooling gases to freeze and shatter Otachi’s tail before tearing out her acid sac. Infuriated, Otachi will grab Gipsy and deploy a pair of hidden wing membranes in her arms to fly into the upper atmosphere, intent on smashing the Jaeger. While the kaiju will indeed fly above the clouds with her foe, Gipsy Danger will deploy a new weapon, a massive sword, to cut Otachi in two. Mortally wounded, she will be killed upon impact with the ground below. However, she was apparently pregnant when she was killed…

As Hannibal Chau’s team moves in to scavenge parts from Otachi after her death , something hideous will erupt from inside her. Unbeknownst to them, the beast was pregnant, and the hideous fetus will lunge out to attack them. Three members of Chau’s team will be killed, and Chau himself will apparently be devoured by the fetus before the thing suffocates on its own umbilical cord.

The young Geiszler will then team up with his coworker Hermann Gottlieb to Drift with the kaiju’s dying brain, and gather valuable information about how to destroy the Kaiju once and for all…"

Reality check: this is the fetal Otachi from the film "Pacific Rim". I do not own the rights, etc etc...

How did the Anteverse kaiju fare in the present in this universe? I mean, besides the world being ready for the kaiju this, time. this timeline has motherfuckin' Godzilla.

Yeah, the Anteverse kaiju didn't do so well here. Most of the events of "Pacific Rim" played out as they did in the movie, and Gamera, Mothra, and the Monsterland preserve kaiju largely ignored them. They simply didn't make enough of a dent in the world at large to warrant an intervention before humanity cut them down. Only Slattern, the strongest of all, might have done some damage, he rivaled Anguirus himself in sheer power. On two occasions, though, a curious Category-three kaiju wandered onto the Monsterland preserve. It was a bit like walking facefirst into a woodchipper, the largest parts they found were their teeth.

Heh heh heh.

I wonder, though - what if Otachi managed to give birth in this timeline? It could be interesting to see some of her spawn becoming a sort of 'Gyaos Lite'.

That's not a bad idea; the only reason Otachi wouldn't be as dangerous as the Gyaos is because Otachi was incapable of laying fertilized eggs on her own, and because she gave birth to only one infant at a time. The Gyaos laid clutches of self-fertilized eggs on their own, making their reproductive abilities far more potent. One-on-one, though, Otachi could probably take on anything up to and including a Super Gyaos.
