Did this within the past couple days. It was an exercise to get lighting and other painting techniques down... and I wanted to use my favorite color scheme ^_^Painted in Photoshop, no references used (except for the little fish eggs you can barely see)

Don't be ashamed of references! I know people will rag on those who use references, but honestly, no great artist has ever gone completely without them! Your work is definitely still improving, even though it already impressed me before!
