would it had made a difference if someone other than francis browne managed to bring a kodak brownie camera during the maiden voyage and at least photographed the progress of the sinking from a lifeboat?

There wouldn't have been much to see...night time photography was not exactly the best back then.

isn't it that the generators were running out of steam because the remaining boiler rooms were beginning to flood?

Admiral-Kevin In reply to AceNos [2014-11-23 22:38:41 +0000 UTC]
yes but there is boiler rooms not yet flooded

so that would mean that the boiler rooms under the third funnel would still have coal shoveled into them

Not exactly, if they did it the pressure would have increased dramatically at the end.
You shall not build up pressure on the steamship which is stationary. X3

I would suppose that they were using whatever steamwas still available as the ship sank

Again your accuracy is great. I wish a movie would show this. It's eerie and sad.

I watched it. Very well done. The only movie to my mind that's tried to be close to accurate with the sinking and lights and breakup was that 2012 TV movie.

quoting a survivor : the giant ships lights that had shone so brilliantly were becoming
a gloomy red as the generators sank into the freezing water.

This is indeed something! You look at the red lights and they give a sense that she is not just sinking, but that she is dying.
