The T-62UM is based on the T-62AGM variant intended for foreign customers who want to modernize their T-62s. The only difference between the two is that the T-62UM integrates some components of the T-84BM Oplot. All T-62s that are in reserve were kept as war reserves and modernized. Around 140 are used by the territorial militia, 660 are in reserve and all modernized to the T-62UM
