That's amazing work! I'm just wondering what blending mode or technique you use between 4-5 to get the colors onto your black & white rendering?

This is great, and thank you for sharing. But it'd be a lot more useful if you could provide a little description. I think the most important thing everybody'd like to know is how you colour the grayscale picture, with what tools. It doesn't have to be an extensive tutorial, I know it takes a lot of time; maybe only a brief explanation of what you do so we can try and do the same to improve our coloring skills.
Thank you.

wow its like the whole structure changed between 2 and 3... do you do that alot? must be tiring..
Anyway great process, if only there's a video process, i'd definitely watch and recommend it. TBH this is my first time seeing this kind of process (grayscale -> flat colour -> touchups etc). I'll try it one day, thanks!

I love seeing steps like this that include the "dead layer/greyscale layer". It's like..the Flemish technique for the digital age lol. I find it silly when people say it's cheating. Who cares if the end result is good?
I've been trying to get the hang of working like this because I seem to get the overall piece down faster and with better values. I hope to eventually be this good at it as well!

I really wanted to see the process between stage 4 to 5, I did greyscale many time but I think I still have problem whenever I put color on multiply layer...idk, don't tell me no 5 is raw color because it's looks good already!

I think "color" layer will be better? 8D because I heard that is the most suitable layer preset to keep the value the same with the Grayscale version 8D

Uhuhuhu QvQ I always not satisfied with my colored version because it is too desaturated or just not fitting with the original color OTL

Oh? What color do you usually use for that overlay layer? just copy paste-ing the previous "color" layer or use another color scheme? OvO
