Hello, commenting on behave of ProjectComment ´s Big comment contest.
Overall, this drawing looks very lovely and positive. From the relaxed, intimate pose, their smiles, to the cute animation, every detail just adds to overall sweet atmosphere. Especially the hearts hidden in the multiple places over the drawing are just screaming "love is in the air".
Another think that I like is the way how you drew girl´s hair. I think that it looks very lovely and in motion, with the ponytail sort of swaying behind her. I think that it makes the drawing look more dynamic.
As for the pose and anatomy, I think that you did good job. Their pose looks natural and the closeness of the characters fits the romantic atmosphere. However, I think that the pose of boy´s hand on his hip is a bit rigid. Everything else about their pose seems to be vibrating energy, there´re talking, smiling, hugging... only his hand seems very still. Maybe if it was just freely relaxed and hanging at his side instead of looking like he´s checking contents of his pocket, it could improve this impression. I´m not sure if I´m explaining it well, I found this example that might be better:
See his right hand? Just randomly hanging there, relaxed. He´s not checking his pocket.

Guidelines
Constructive and relevant commen), I have been given the task of seeking out works to share my insights.
To start, the animation on the heart bubble is nice and fluid, clearly you have better skills with animation than I do. And they way that both characters are posed do help with addressing the idea that these two are an item, complimented by the shading.
If there was anything that I could see as something to gripe about (minor as it is), it would be that the colors aren't as vibrant as I would feel a romance related piece should be. The choices made make it a bit difficult to tell if this is either in the middle of the night or on a very cloudy day.
That being said, this work is still a very solid piece.

Hello. I found your artwork through .
What I first noticed about your image where the tame and harmonic colors that give the image a gentle and relaxed look. I also like how you drew the expressions and set some color accents with the notes in the background.
The only things that look weird to me in the background are the blue heart note and the lilac note. The heart note seems to flow over, and the text of the lilac note is partially blurred out. The rest of the background looks great.
For the people, I adore the texture of the skin and how you drew the hair. You wrote that you have problems with black hair which I can relate to. I found the solution to imagine black hair as dark blue or another dark color. When drawing it, I do not start with a grey or black base but the underlying color and then later darken it or heighten the contrast as much as needed as I, for example, did for my profile pic or this picture of my black cat Holiday Card with cat . Black hair or fur seem always to contain either red or blue.
What looks weird to me here are the hands, which look somewhat unnatural. Some tutorials from my collection are Hands reference 4 and Drawing Hands .
The clothes look very good. The way you drew the folds gives them a nice texture and realistic look.
A little something I noticed is that while the plan in the foreground is completely blurred out the background, from with the characters seem more distanced that from the plant looks rather sharp, through which the focus you put on the character through blurring out the plant mostly vanishes again. Through this, they look more part of the background than separated from it.
The little heart cat in the middle is just adorable. It still does disturb the rather calm atmosphere of the picture for me, especially as it looks like it is about to collide with the man's chin.
Still a beautiful calm image.

I love the soft painting look.
And the colors are pretty nice too.
Their poses are ok. Dosen't seem to have any real big flaws.
My only real problem is the hands and faces. They look flat and a little off.
Just do a little a little sketchs on them.

Ohh ok thank you so much for this comment! I really have to practice on shading and hands; it was the first time i shaded in that style which is prolly why the flatness happened haha

HEY! I'm from project comment and I think this piece is great
You've managed to convey a really nice emotion here with a clear display of the emotions between the two characters. You can see the romance in a sweet and fresh manner. The couple looks new and like they're still figuring each other out, but in an exciting and fun way, which makes whoever is seeing the piece feel happy for the characters, and evoking a sense of empathy on the viewer is always a good step. The smart use of shape and expression can already show a lot about who these characters are as people. The girl looks intelligent and independent and the guy looks caring and empathetic, which is a good combination and really sells these two as a couple. In fact, in terms of actual expression and emotion, there is nothing wrong about this piece, and in fact the only aspects I can possibly pick up on are those from a technical standpoint.
You've done the difficult task of making two detailed objects (The two people in this case) interact, and can I first say that you've pulled it off quite well. The shading and style show a good consistency in the piece and the background doesn't take away from the main focus of the piece. What I will say however is certain proportions are off slightly, which affect the piece when inspecting further. The guy's right hand has some inconsistencies with the thickness of the fingers (The ring finger is disproportionate to the others) and the overall hand shape that he's making isn't a natural one. A human hand doesn't naturally rest like this, so the position could make him appear tensed and effect the emotion conveyed in the piece, but this is such a small detail that it really doesn't bring up an issue, it just reduces clarity a little. On a similar topic, the fingers on the girl's hand that's holding the ice cream are just sightly disproportionate; they need to be extended that little bit further off the edge of the ice cream to make it more clear that her fingers are actually wrapped round the cone, and not just really short, but again, not many people will even notice this, and the ones that do will see that her fingers are meant to wrap around the ice cream, that effect just isn't quite presented. Neither of these little details actually take anything away from the piece, they're just small inconsistencies to take into account next time you create something like this
The only other improvement you could possibly make would to be to look more carefully at how these two are interacting. The position of the guy's legs relative to the girl's legs seems a bit off. From a certain perspective it could seem like he is walking into her rather than going in to hug her, but that doesn't take anything away from the piece as to even notice this detail, you would have to look through the blurry plant in the foreground to even know where the girl's second leg is, and keep in mind that all the details I've picked out are so small that the piece isn't any worse without them. Its like someone getting 99% on a test and someone else getting 100% (the 99% being the piece before small improvements and the 100% being the piece after you've improved it.) One is just that little bit cleaner, but both would get the same grade, and therefore both pieces are absolutely as good as one another. The tiny little details I've talked about are details that wouldn't even normally get noticed, they just silently make the piece the best it can get, but honestly (and to quote Penn Gilette) Having all that being said, I felt it was perfect. Genuinely, this piece has a really good display of emotion and a fantastic style. No aspect of what you've done here is incorrect whatsoever and trust me when I say that you should be really proud of what you've created. Keep up the incredible work!!!

Thank you so much for this detailed comment!! To be honest I was working with so many new aspects most especially the pose which took me a long while but im glad... well to quote somehow "99%" of it worked out HAHA
But i really hope to one day achieve that 100% ! So I'll work on poses and hands to fix it hehe
Once again thank you so much for your critique and your kind words !!

No problem! I'm not the greatest at this art style so my advice could be utter nonsense but honestly just keep doing what you're doing and your artwork will be even more perfect than it already is!
