This is my third submission for LBMV fashion contest.
The challenge was to create 4 minimalistic outfits reviewing the American style.
My personal topic is “ Polka Dot – Pin Up ”. I was inspired by the America’s Golden Age (40’s – 50’s fashion) , which I’m totally in love with. bp1.blogger.com/_Uv1HpwdncSA/R…
Suit: Made of dark blue and blue with black polka dots material. My idea was to make the top something between a jacket and a blouse. That’s why the lower part is starched and fitted on the body and the higher part and sleeves come looser with plenty of fabric. Accessories are red shoes, a little silky scarf and a fabric decorative flower for the hair.
Gown: It is kind of a short and long dress in one. The polka dot part is just a little bit see trough combined with thin velvety fabric for the dots. The skirt part is supposed to be very rich and cut in waves on the bottom edge.
Cocktail dress: The colors are silver gray and white. The polka dot part is added on top of the other fabric and it is very light with grey dots. The edges of the dots are supposed to be sparkly, but that couldn’t scan on the computer. The fabrics for the are very light. The bow is decorative element.
Trench coat: It is a short spring coat with a lot of volume, made from a fun patterned water proof fabric. I know that’s not what was expected, but I think it perfectly matches the dolled up fashion of the 40s. Underneath is a bright yellow ruffled dress.

Polka dots on a suit! Awesome, i really like the creativity with this one, you c an tell it is well thought out. The only think i dont like is i think the dots ought to be smaller on the cocktail dress, just to flatter her figure more. All around goregous though!

i really admire your skillful illustration and your creative approach. The models are very animated and i love the backgrounds.... however, the outfits are not exactly my type. they are a bit retro style i think. but this must have been your intention, since the theme is pinup...
