I use the word feeling because it is entirely subjective. You may not get the same thing I do nor what another observer gets. All disclaimers aside, the feeling is warmth and a personal connection to the work. Ink work can sometimes carry a very cold, detached feeling with it and younger artists intent on mastering the tools often have trouble conveying anything other than the lines themselves. "Scenes" seems like a glimpse into what the artist is thinking rather than just an exercise in texture and pattern. Is this great ink work? No. Does it provoke deep feeling? No. Yet it is certainly more adept than the work of a beginner and some professionals. If this is old work, I will scout out newer pieces. Thanks for listening.  RICK
