I don't know why, but I trust that bartender.
I love the details in it.

Honestly I don't think anyone can draw detailed, full-color scenes without weeping angrily at some point

Even with the competing vanishing points it looks nice. I think that competitiveness gave it a curved look. A rather neat effect.

The lady doth protest too much, methinks...Bitch, bitch, bitch!Β We've been waiting so long for you to post something, you could'a tossed paint at a piece of notebook paper, shot it with your cellphone and uploaded it, and we'd be happy.
The style in this one reminds me a little of Gahan Wilson (hey, you could do a lot worse) with a smidgen of Charles Addams.Β The details are insane -- from the cord on the old fan to the dusty 'top shelf' bottles.Β The bartender is a piece of work ('scuse me while I hurl) with his moray-eel mustache and steampunk blinkers.Β He's balanced (figuratively and compositionally) by that bird, which looks like a superannuated canary that consumed a medium-sized dog.Β Whole.
Such a sweet slice-of-life (carved, perhaps, with the scary-ass knife plunged into the pillar like it was a ditzy matron's calf) and you're wussing about perspective?Β Last I knew, you lived in New Orleans, where no two lines are going to converge, anyway!Β (It's the humidity -- warps everything up.)

Yokoboo [2014-10-01 21:03:19 +0000 UTC]
Well, yes. Β If you REALLY study the picture, you'll be able to stop the lines that don't converge. Β But honestly... I think it gets pulled off well. Β It is not something that you notice when you first look at the piece, which I believe is largely due to your excellent use of value and color. Β I really wouldn't sweat it too much. Β It's a gorgeous piece and everyone makes mistakes. Β It's all about learning and applying what you learn to the next work.
Also clutter is the most awesome best way to fill a space and cover up perspective imperfections. Β So kudos to you!
