Back in New York, The Sicilian had used her and tossed her away, getting in good and using Lorraine's connections as the daughter of a mafia boss. That's how Giodorni got involved with the mafia in the first place. Once Giodorni had wormed her way in, she stopped bothering to hide her tracks - and it became clear to anyone with even a cursory interest that she had been stepping out on Lorraine.

Several high society women in the city were outraged to discover that their darling Giodorni - or whatever fake name she used on a case by case basis - was unfaithful in the extreme. There was a jeweler, a banker, and a gorgeous drag queen who had grown absurdly wealthy selling fine furs imported from questionable sources overseas.
