I drove about 900 miles (with a little help from my mother in law ♥) in one (ish) day to visit and have some stock photo fun. It was a 20 hour day, but I think it was worth it.
Here's a shot from the day. You guys will hear more about these images down the line. :3I don't want to be in a car again for a while.
OBLIGATORY VIOLA DISCLAIMER: I have never in my life played or been instructed by a professional to play a viola! I tried my best, but I am not a good reference for a perfect playing stance/position/etc. If you want to make sure your artwork is 100% super accurate to how this instrument should be played, I recommend you do additional research.

VIOLA! YEs
Viola's are rarely mentioned in the musical world compared to violins and cellos! and for people who come across this comment. A viola is NOT a violin. It is different, different strings, bigger body, much more mellow tone. It's basically a smaller version of a cello(and the cello is not a big version of a violin, completely different). If you're used to a small violin the big viola can make your arms ache. By the way, your position with the viola is quite nice, when people play, they get really into it and were around with the music. Also, to comment on the hand position on the bow, since you mentioned you've never been taught, your hand position is supposed to be around the frog and that pearl thing and the screw. index finger on the frog, both ring and middle at the pearl, thumb on the other side of the pearl, and pinky usually at the screw. With the wrist-elbow-shoulder movement in order going down bow and opposite way going up bow. (I'm sorry, I'm a nerd for music when it comes to the viola XD)
