I read Japanese for a year. I believe it's more used for "it is" sort of. Like "So desu" means "So it is". But never heard someone saying only "desu" by itself before. Anyway I'm shit at Japanese now so I'm not the one to know I guess

To be honest, I had no idea what I was doing. So, i am very sorry for confusing you :3 I confuse myself sometimes, and you are correct, desu means "it is"......(I'm horrible at word placement)
