Just some notes on being a comicker/cartoonist. Moved here from my other account.

Note that I'm not and have not worked as a 'professional' comicker. : ) These are just some things I've noticed over the years that are good to keep in mind.

At first I thought this would be a noob tutorial about "hehehe draw your storyline and then add an ending!" but it came out very very useful! Thanks a lot for the advising!

really that's the only thing that bothers me about manga that my friend criticizes about- it being too simple with only a few scenes being detailed per chapter. But at the rate he makes things and the quality of the story(Naruto) I'm pretty impressed but there is a definite notice in styles from the start to present same for Bleach too

Ahh I'm sure! The same differences are also apparent in 'amateur' comics around DA as well!

I think it's dangerous to compare a single artist's speed to a mangaka- if I had assistants I'd be a lot faster, too! Likewise, an American pro comic has 18-22 finished pages per month, and a lot of times that's with multiple artists working on a page. 12 hours for a single artist on a full page is pretty good!

Yes, but there are great artists that aren't 'professional' per se, but can still do lots of work all themselves. I'm sure in the biz though, assistants are very much appreciated~! xD A well, I suppose it also depends on the artist and the type of comic being drawn.

That's right. I'm also used to drawing a lot of details so I couldn't bring myself to draw something simpler.

I completely know what you're talking about *____* Simplifying can be tough to do!

Okay, not being mean but...
It took you two weeks on a page...?

Oh yes. I wasn't working on such pages daily, of course.
But I believe average time was about 12-20 hours per page. *____*
