Thank you my friend. Thats quite a compliment. Glad you like it! I must admit Saturn or any planet with rings is the best planet type to do.

Ah, good then.  Means I haven't totally lost my powers of reasonable judgment-lol.  Yeah, I've seen halos around our moon, some faint and some as thick as fog.  And the only time I ever looked through a telescope and have actually seen anything discernable was when I was fortunate enough to bring into focus the rings of Saturn.  I nearly jumped out of my skin, and had goose bumps for weeks afterward every time I recalled that close-up view.  Stunning, and for me, very humbling.  Wish everyone could have the same experience at least once in their lives.  It might not impact everyone the same way, but I seriously doubt they would ever forget such a sight.  Looking forward to seeing your next beauty.  Thanks for your time and keep up the good stuff.

Clever and appropriate title.  Keeping in mind that after making a trip to the doctor's office today and taking some potent pain medication that my powers of mental and visual perception are likely a bit altered from the norm, it actually took a moment for my brain and eyes to sync before I could begin to discriminate and determine.  And truthfully, I'm still not positive I'm seeing what think I'm seeing, but have had a little fun puzzling it out all the same.  So, what am I seeing?   A halo/ring of light produced by a sphere-shaped (ring) source of light (perhaps a star)...and a celestial body (again round) limned with reflected light, which appears to my eyes as another ring... all of which is seen through still one more ring, consisting, presumably, of ordinary asteroidal debris and various bits of other space flotsam, which suggests that it is also probably part of a ring system (i.e. rings of Saturn).... or so I'm guessing that's what the manmade spacecraft is about to fly through.  On the other hand, my perception might be waaaaayyy off right now.  If I'm wrong please feel free to correct me as or when you have the time--if you even want to.  It's just that this one made me stop and do a double take, then a third, and so forth.  Interesting and enjoyable, and now I'm a little curious about how far off I might be, hah!  Did I miss any rings, or see some that aren't really there?  Cheers...

Yes, what I am portraying is a sun shining through the rings system's ecliptic so the halo is millions of ice particles refracting the light to the viewer. Have you ever seen a halo surrounding the moon when the atmosphere is really cold, well I am attempting the same idea. So you are not imagining things, despite you being doped to the max, which sounds great! anyhow there you go.

M
