At least with animals if they aren't entirely in focus you can fake fur once you know how to do it properly. With people there is really nothing you can do to make it look like them if you can't make the details out. People just don't seem to understand how important being able to make out a photo is to actually being able to reproduce a likeness. It seems like an issue you have with most of the pieces you draw, but you are always able to make it work out with magnificent results.

I don't think I could draw a picture without the photo  being blurred now  lol

I'm sure something with seem off with how smoothly things were going with a clear photo and you would think you must be doing something wrong haha. The last couple of times I tried to work out commissions the people seemed to not want to tell me what they wanted. Everything I suggested it was yeah that's fine or they didn't seem to understand what I was explaining to them. In a way, I'm glad they didn't work out. They both would have been a pain to deal with through an entire painting

My boyfriend is an artist as well that does special effects makeup. He doesn't have much painting experience, but decided to paint something that was just lettering for the mom of his close friend. After he already had it where he though it was finished, she comes to pick it up and tells him then it's not what she wanted. She then shows him a photo of the text that apparently he was supposed to magically know to make the painting look like. So yes you must be a mind reader

special effects lol ,popular for Halloween  etc,if you get fed up of him you can change his appearance,

just had a picture come back of the young girl with the cat on her shoulder,can I change her face because shes older now and looks different to the photo she gave me

I blame the drugs lol
