Whew! This is definitely one of my more intensive pieces. It's a commission for the lovely ~Azende , go check out her work if you haven't already! I'm always surprised when super-talented people commission me, but I guess a lot of us tend to struggle with making images of our own characters. It's always fun to see someone else's interpretation. This is a re-imagining of her character Viduus, who she will be bringing to The Secret [link] shortly. If the feathering wasn't indication enough, he's going to be a Northern boy.

Super-quick summary of the fiddling that went on in this piece over the course of several days: Facial reconstruction to un-dish the head, changed a bay to a dark grullo and tweaked it many many times, added leg barring and a tiny not-so-visible snip, added feathering, tweaked lighting, pinned the ear, added scars. For the background, I cloned out a second hill in the foreground and copied out the current one to balance the tones with the background. I also moved the light source with some careful cloning onto a new layer. And of course the usual tack cloning, blending, colour balance, hair, colour modification and text.
