I actually shortened the original stock horse's mane a little, it was like a giant carpet that covered the chest!

I love this! The mane is wonderful and I love where the horse is placed.
The only thing I would suggest is that usually when in the sun, the hairs will get more saturated and lighter as they stray away and you would be able to see a lot more fly away hairs. it's a little difficult to explain. here is an example:

you can see how the hair is very saturated on the ends. Also if you look at the plants on the right of your picture, at the tops you can see how the lighting affects the thin stems.
Otherwise, this is absolutely wonderful!

Thanks! I can see what you mean, but I wasn't too comfortable with making the ends of black hair really white.
