Description
The first vessel of its kind, the Nova-00 Star Forge was the single largest ship ever constructed by the Universal Federation. This ship was designed with the purpose of creating new celestial bodies. The ship would first travel to a nebula or gas cloud, where the atomizer (the cylindrical portion towards the front/right end of the ship) would reduce targeted material to its basest form of protons and electrons. These atomic particles would then be collected and stored within a near-infinite containment unit (the spherical portion of the ship) for later use. the central part of the star forge is the genesis-forge. Utilizing a vast swarm of nano-constructors to initialize the process, the forge would use stored matter to construct the desired celestial body. Temporal stasis fields were used for larger projects, where the ship would slowly build from the core outward maintaining a safe distance from the created object. Pictured here is the star forge just after completing the construction of the gas giant Aetheron, which is slightly larger than Jupiter. The pronged ring around the front half of the ship held the processing centers for the Nova's AI, which oversaw the careful placement of each and every atom. The thinner ring around the back half of the ship housed the quarters and offices of the forge's crew.
