Ha ha, don't know what else to say. This was a fun little whim that came to my wife and I. So I got to draw My Little Pony again. Similar to my previous MLP whim piece, turning the Avengers into Ponies. (Also a fun whim) fav.me/d51sqd3I'm sure somebody will complain upon my pairings for the ponies/Sailor Soldiers, but hey, it all works out. A couple I swapped back and forth in my mind, but my wife and I think it fits perfect in the end. We opted for demeanor/attitude to be the deciding factor. Twilight is facilitating the meeting. She's an experienced "universe" hopper. Also slightly paired with Sailor Moon due to "leader" and Mercury due to "books".
Sailor Moon and Pinkie Pie are all about hyper energy and both have a fascination with cheering up their friends/getting really upset when their friends are mad at them. Sailor Venus and Rainbow Dash are both athletic, bold, and have a tendency to occasionally seems a bit cocky, though usually both able to back it up. Sailor Mars and Rarity both have blunt personalities that seem a bit self-obsessed until you get to know them and that they're both very generous and trustworthy. Jupiter and Applejack both have that gruff, independent tomboy look to people, not to mention they both are great cooks. Mercury and Fluttershy are both so quiet, gentle and reserved, it was just too cute NOT to put together. Plus Mercury could approach Fluttershy without scaring her.
For a background, I used MLP's Crystal Empire, since I've already seen the comparisons between it and Sailor Moon's "Crystal Tokyo" that even look similar. So, it seemed natural. Also, didn't try to imitate MLP's style this time for coloring. It was a fun experiment last time, but I think I'll stick to my own coloring for now.

Yeah had I thought about it, I should have put Chibimoon for Pinkie Pie instead of splitting Sailor Moon between Pinkie and Twilight in my mind. (Though obviously more pairing her straight with Pinkie in the image for the sake of goofiness)

Personally I think Rainbow Dash would fit Mars more and Rarity would be with Venus, but other than those, everything is spot on!

Personally, I prefer Sailor Mercury (or rather, Ami) to be with Twilight Sparkle. Those two just have more in common that Mercury does with Fluttershy (go to this picture I made and the description will give you all the details: ryanswan5.deviantart.com/art/A… ). Also Twilight has the experience to be able to talk to someone as shy as Ami is/was thanks to being with Fluttershy.
Though I have to admit, there are times where I envision Sailor Moon/Usagi singing the "Smile Smile Smile" song.

Guys watch Sailor Moon, My Life as a Teenage Robot, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Lucky Star, Hamtaro, Powerpuff Girls, I didn't expect this to happen... But I find it not a problem.
I still play Mario, even though I'm older.

i think that twilight are better paired with amy, because both have too much in common, the same to rarity and rainbow, them can better paired with minako and rei respectively

I so want this to happen!! I immediately thought of Sailor Moon when the girls did their transformation in Equestria Girls! And I definitely get the pairings:
Usagi/Serena like Pinkie is all about fun, high-energy, and can be silly but is growing into a more mature person/pony as the show progresses. Usagi learns to be less flighty and less of a crybaby as opposed to how she acted at the beginning of the show, Pinkie learns in Too Many Pinkies that she is not a nonstop party machine (showing that she might have seen herself the same way her friends did). Both still retain a bit of their childish nature, but learn that there is more to life than constant fun/frivilous things.
Rei like Rarity comes off as selfish/vain, even materialistic at first, but can be very generous. Both aspire to greatness, and have artistic talents. Rei is interested in pop culture in the same way that Rarity has a fascination with the Canterlot elite.
Ami like Fluttershy is quiet, reserved and prefers the company of books/woodland critters to human/pony interaction but will defend her friends when necessary.
Makoto/Lina like Apple Jack, besides being a tomboy, is a hard-worker, both are physically strong but can be gentle, as well as having strong/independent personalities. Not to mention both lost their parents at a young age.
Minako/Mina like Rainbow Dash is athletic, resilient and clever. Both are cheerful, and romantics (Minako being boy-crazy, Rainbow having a romanticized idea of the Wonderbolts, could be indicated by the lyric "Perform for crowds of thousands, they'll shower us with diamonds" in Best Night Ever). Plus both are known for being overly-ambitious.

Thanks! Yeah you completely got my thoughts on pairings. My wife and I are actually re-watching Sailor Moon in Japanese for the fun of it, and we were just discussing that we thought the pairings worked great for personality and how happy we were with them.
There really just wasn't a perfect match for Twilight in the Sailor Moon world unless maybe you start including more than the core 5, which just would end up with odd numbers likely again.

Well its a great picture but highly inaccurate in the parings. While Mercury and Fluttershy and Moon and Pinkie go great together. Mars should have been with Twilight, Jupiter with Rainbow Dash, and Venus with Rarity. Those ponies more accurately depict similarities win the characters personalities.

While I do agree Mars could have gone great with Twilight, my wife and I decided that it worked more uniformly if Twilight was with everyone.
Venus and Rainbow Dash though just seem too easy a pair, since they're both first and foremost athletic, competitive and a bit cocky about their own talents at times. They also both want to be a star/idol type. Jupiter and AJ are both the most physically strong of their groups, and they both have a soft side where they're quiet and listen to their friends. Not to mention they both cook amazingly. Honestly they both get kind of jipped even for air time/episodes that focus on them on their shows. Ha ha.
