Description
This version of MPC-HC includes a minimalistic GUI, new media icons, new logo and a matching toolbar.Except for the toolbar, all icons are included inside the .exe and .dll files.

*Update: For those of you who have problems with the icons in Windows 10, go to Settings>System>Default Apps, click on Music and select MPC-HC.
For the icons to take effect, open MPC-HC, go to View>Options>Formats>Association, select all (video and audio files) and hit Apply.

but i'm using K-Lite Codec Pack, and i still missing some file extensions, can u update the icons? Here's the list:
.asf (video icon)
dvd (disc icon)

Hi, the icons for these files are there, but they're shown differently. For example .m4a will have the same icon as .aac, .m3u is a playlist file and thus will have the playlist icon PLS, .ra is also present in the icon library. All the extensions that are supported by MPC-HC have a icon.

New icon's dont seem to be working. Every time I try to update file associations it tells me the .dll file is missing and it defaults back to the default icons. Please help.
This is on Windows 7 with MPC-HC 1.7.11. I tried copying/pasting the mpciconlib.dll by itself, and all the files too, and both result in the same issue.

Hi,
I've checked for this issue and the only scenario in which the error comes up, is when the mpciconlib.dll is deleted from the installation folder. Like I said previously, reinstall the software, copy the theme files in the installation folder and open MPC-HC to associate it to your media files.

I'll look into it. Till then, try to reinstall MPC-HC, apply the theme and run the software with administrator rights.

Hi AdzeArts You're probably remembering me,so I think there's a bug in the theme because when I Update the Codec Pack even that the
''remember last playlist'' and ''remember recent files'' the player doesn't remember them, and when I save a playlist he make a ''?''
instead of a symbol or someletter in the name of the media.
And I'm SORRY for Asking if you're busy.

Sorry for the late reply.
Go to MPC-HC's installation folder, right click mpc-hc.exe, Properties, Compatibility tab, and make sure you check the box where it says "Run this program as an administrator"
Open MPC-HC's options menu, Player tab, and make sure that "Store settings in .ini file" is disabled, and "Keep history of recently opened files" and "Remember last playlist" are enabled.
If you done the steps above and it's still not working, open the registry editor (regedit.exe), and delete this key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MPC-HC\MPC-HC. If this key is not present, close the registry.
If none of the above are working, it means there's a bug in the app and I can't do anything about it.

Thanks for your reply,as for the solution I tried Making the app working as an administrator and it worked,
then I disabled storing settings in ''.ini'' file and it worked even when I disable Running the app as administrator.
As for the playlist I found the solution on my own you just have to change the encoding when you save the file.

Hello, i replaced all files in my MPC-HC 1.7.10 installation folder with your files but your ICON set does not work! I see only this new grey general icon for all types of files.. Can you help with how to enable your icon set, please? The icon set looks nice. Thanks.

Guys I am utterly, totally at my wits end here.
A few years ago I installed this theme and icon pack on my W7 MPC. Well I've rebuilt by drive...and after over 2 hours I just -cannot- get it installed again.
I reinstalled MPC-HC the Aug 15th version. No problem, it works fine.
And DL the 13.88 MB version - extracted files, read the ReadMe, and after that nothing has worked. The ReadMe says" "If MPC-HC 1.7.10 x86 is installed, make sure to copy the files from the "MPC-HC 1.7.10 x86" folder to C:\Program Files (x86)\MPC-HC."
That folder does not exist. I have C:\Program Files (x86)\MPC-HC\K-Lite Codec Pack\MPC-HC64. Thus, the theme itself will not install.
As to the icon pack, I just cannot find them at all - all I can find is the PREVIEW of the icon pack, not the actual icon pack. No pack.
I'm just at this point so frustrated I could scream. Sorry for venting but obviously I'm doing something drastically wrong - but the instructions / multiple files in multiple locations does not make this easy whatsoever.
I give up.

Hi,
The path of the software I provided is the default one. If your software is in another location just copy the theme files to that specific location. From what I see in that path, you seem to have the 64bit version of MPC-HC installed in the 32bit program files directory. You could open MPC-HC and see in the "About" or "Help" section, which version is actually installed and then copy the correct files. Or you could just go and copy the 64bit theme files and paste theme in your software directory. If it gives you any kind of error, replace them with the 32bit theme files. As for the icons, they are located in the "mpciconlib.dll" file. After you have installed the theme, make MPC-HC your default player for audio and video files. If the icons still don't show up, delete the thumbnail cache.
If you have any other problems with the theme, reply to this message.

Is there any fix for this? Icons used to work fine but once I updated to 1.7.10 I can no longer get this to work

The files for MPC-HC 1.7.10 are in the description. After you downloaded them, replace the files from the MPC-HC folder and it should work just fine. If not, reinstall the software.

Apologies, I booted up Windows 7 in a virtual machine and surprisingly installation went without a hitch, probably something on my end stuffing up; i'll keep trying

I don't know. Maybe it's a Windows related issue. You could try to reinstall MPC-HC to see if there are any changes. If not, search on forums for similar issues.

If you are talking about making a skin for K-Lite, it can't be done. K-Lite is just a pack of codecs.

I'm Sorry, it's not the codecs it's with the codecs i'ts just about the menu, i can't find the repeat menu.
I thought it was the codecs because when i install the codecs alone without the theme i found the menu.

I love the skin and all the icons!
But I think there's a 'glitch' whenever I try to play a certain music. There's this high pitched sound before the music starts @_@;
I hope you can fix it, overall lovely skin ^ 7^

Hi, that sound has nothing to do with the skin, maybe there's something wrong with your audio driver and it may require a reinstall. Check the audio output settings in MPC-HC and make sure they're set to default.

It's already set to default ^^ I play the same music on MPC-HC (w/o the skin) and it sounds fine.

The icons work as they should be. MP4 files can generate thumbnails, therefore you see a thumbnail from that video. If you were to have a matroska file(.mkv), the icon would appear instead of the thumbnail. Same for audio files like aac, m4a, mp3 files without cover, etc. In conclusion, if the media file can generate a thumbnail it will be displayed along with the MPC-HC icon and if not, the specific icon shall be displayed instead.

You must have the application installed on your machine before you use this skin. Go and download the app from their website, make sure to download the proper version, then check the Readme file I provided and install the skin.
