Description The VERSUS series is an installation project containing 10 illustrations about social issues. As main concept, irony and contradictions. It's the result of a 2-months investigation work.

In this one the main subject is the hipocrisy of information. The naked body, the most natural thing in the world, is often censored, but you can see violent movies or news about war at any hour with your children: It's better if they're violent, they may get corrupted by looking at naked bodies... (please notice the irony).

You can see the full serie in my website: [link]

All images are 4500 x 3000 px @ 600dpi. In these most of the photos are mine.

Nudity is certainly natural but it is not innocent, because it's a tool for creation (because here we speak about image), it can be used to many regards. I appreciate nudity when it has a direction, when it's beautiful and pure, with a good use, but not when it is used in a way stupidly erotic with mercantile ends. A naked body is not just a naked body, it is related to something, and my appreciation depends of this aim, and not of the simple presence or not of a naked body. I hope you understand my english, the next time I trie in spanish

Well, that's certainly true but not applicable to this image in my opinion... here, the nude body is shown in contrast to the tvs showing war and violence scenes, which retransmission is never censored although people get mad when they see a breast in tv, which is natural and normal when war and violence shouldn't, that's the point I portrayed in this image or at least what I tried to portray

I said I want culture and Art in television, and I'm a "brainwashed"? For me, the brainwashed are the people who watch TV in order to see weak emissions and free erotism.

Well, if that's your point of view I may got that wrong or maybe you didn't speak your mind correctly . But if you think that a nude body goes thorugh the way of porn then you're still, terribily wrong, because a nude body is just something natural that we all have and has by no means any relationships with pornography.

I like this drawing but I am not agree with you when you say "we see war but the naked body is censored", I don't know the TV in your country, but where I live, we are not in war so we have more of naked body, and I don't like the way in which is used the female body, more and more near to the pornography. In my opinion, the violence And the Sex are the core of the TV and the TV rating, and it is sad: it is not the thirst to learn who attract the public.
Have a nice day

Absolute freaking genius, man...

It comes back to what George Carlin said about he'd rather show his kids pictures of two people making love than two people killing each other.

Odd, innit, how something as natural and beautiful as the body is considered obscene, yet the obscenity of war is accepted as commonplace and even encouraged in certain places...

Aegis-Illustration In reply to crowhesghost [2007-12-12 15:41:33 +0000 UTC]

Absoluty agree with you again mate, the hipocrisy in education/information nowadays is way too huge...

I blame religion the most for that, really. Where else is the human body reviled as disgusting and sinful, while it's perfectly okay to go out and kill anyway who doesn't believe in the same god you do?

I must say it's really good serie. I haven't comment on all of your deviations, 'cause I've been really busy recently, but I've seen all of them.
Ideas are executed perfectly and clearly, and the ideas are good themselves. Like here - I've never thought about censorship the way you represent.
Boy, have you done some really good job
