Description This is also not my head canon, but I read somewhere on a forum that, in the original script for the game, you could not only kill Quinn on the transponder ship, but you could also bring him back to your ship for execution at the hands of your crew.  The light-sided companions, Vette and LS Jaesa, refuse to participate, but the others all want a piece of him.  Of course, I couldn't find the actual script for that scene (it wasn't even in the beta), so I wanted to imagine what it might look like.

DS Jaesa is such a psycho, but I think she's going through a phase.  That's why she spontaneously started wearing the Imperial dancer's outfit.

For my character, this scene would have to be a big misunderstanding.  Just goes to show that good communication is key to a successful marriage

My female Sith Warrior would forgive him after a good spanking or two.

My male Sith Warrior, on the other hand, would at least take his hands.............

It depends. We saw KOTOR's bombing of Taris, and Vader in the Force Unleashed got to massacre Wookiee tribes. We also killed the Jedi in Order 66 for both Classic Battlefront II and the EPIII game, the latter of which had Anakin kill teenage Padawans. Also, decapitated Stormtroopers and Clones do dot some of the comics and games too.......and then there's the matter of what happened to all those Imperial Troops in Return of the Jedi who surrendered on Endor. We see the Ewoks playing with their empty helmets, but we don't see the men who wore those helmets, which more than likely points to those poor bastards getting eaten alive by the Rebels' new friends.

In KOTOR 2 we saw a whole facility of people who were gassed. There's also tons of corpses in KOTOR of mauled people. In Force Unleashed, we saw people get vaporized or blown out into space. In Jedi Academy, there was limb dismemberment, and the same went for Force Unleashed.

And that's why I like being a mandalorian, least my crew are loyal to each other. Except the hauk. Hey, any chance I can trade you skadge for vette?

Honestly I feel like being given to Broonmark is FAR worse then anything DS jeasa could ever dream of.

That talz can get creative...

I mean all I did was fling him across the room and smash him into a wall then started crushing his throat with the force until he passed out.

Not like I killed him or anything.

Honestly, I get people hating, even thinking he's a good-for-nothing traitor, but I never understood anyone's desire to kill him. I remember seeing a video on youtube of the sith warrior killing him in the later expansions, and I ended up literally covering my eyes in shock, even though I knew what was coming. Then again, my sith warrior is actually the softest sith in the galaxy, because I can't even stand to make harsh decisions in a fictional game. I'm pretty much resigned to never being able to play an all dark side play through of any class.

Based on the discussions I've had with other players over the years, the desire to kill Quinn stems from what I like to call "companion immunity", where a companion is exempt from consequences due to them being, at the time, the only one who could fulfill that role.  You see, before KOTFE was dropped, each companion had a specific role they played in the story; Quinn was the healer, Vette was the ranged DPS, Jaesa was the melee DPS,  Pierce was the ranged tank, and Broonmark was the melee tank.  You could neither reject nor kill a companion in that role, since you'd be left without that role in the future if you did so.

This became a problem for companions that people don't like; Skadge and Quinn being the most glaring examples.  With Skadge, depending on your character, you'd either leave him on Belsavis if you're light and potentially outright kill him if dark, and people didn't like being forced to take him along.  Same with Quinn; in this situation, he earned his death for a Dark Side player, and players don't like the fact that you're forced to forgive him and let him rejoin you.

Which is why many of us take special glee in the opportunity of removing them from the game in KOTFE/KOTET and beyond; the fact that we can means that many of us do.  I can guarantee that, if the option was there from the start, these characters wouldn't have such vitriol spat at them to this day.

You're not alone in that. I tend to be so dedicated to optimizing the wellbeing of every NPC involved, that it almost feels like I'm not actually getting to make a choice anymore, I'm just following the path of maximum approval points.

Writing my own stories is more liberating in that regard--it gives me an invigorating rush of feels but isn't prohibitively painful when the characters hurt each other... maybe because in that case, I'm not so worried about getting hit with consequences I don't control, or because it doesn't feel so much like I'm hurting "someone else" when the characters are mine.

My first Sith Inquisitor was especially guilty of this, to the point of coming across as really manipulative. (Mainly in trying to keep Khem Val on my side so I didn't have a hungry Dashade after me. Ashara, Andronikus, and Lt Talos she got along well with.)

Yeah, I've only really started recently to pick options I imagine my character saying instead of basing it off of approval or even light/dark choices. Sometimes dialogue deceptively aggressive, though. Guess that's why the esc option is so nice!

I'm sorry, but DS Jaesa is too much fun for me *not* to pursue, particularly the romance option. I even did it with a Warrior who was mostly LS.

I really appreciate how you took these head canon ideas and turned them into hilarious strips like this. That's not easy.

I love how 2V is startled when you first meet him, but isn't disturbed in the slightest about half the room covered in blood.

Also, he's gonna use that tiny mop to clean all that up...... If that were me I would stick to just standing around calling her "fit and deadly as always" XD

.....had they left this in....no, I wouldn't have gone there, but my nephew and hubby sure would have.  Well, hard to say if they'd have killed Quinn themselves, or let the crew do it.  Either way, Quinn would be dead, and it wouldn't bother either of them.  Neither liked Quinn's betrayal a whole lot.

And wow, just that expression alone....DS Jaesa *is* a psycho!

Your weakness made this pleasure moment a sick moment, you should enjoy it with your own hands, not lock yourself in the dark and listen to emo music, still Jaesa brightens the day once again.

"Ooh I'd love to kill a traitor" love Jaesa so much!
You could have put some red or yellowish orange in her eyes to show her beautifull darkness.

What I heard was that something like this was originally part of the plan, but it didn't even make it past the alpha. In the beta, you could kill Quinn, but you had to do it yourself before returning to your ship.

Felinas In reply to Aemixx [2015-07-24 17:19:37 +0000 UTC]

I've heard a lot of things about SWTOR's Alpha testing and all the differences between what it is now and what it was. Some of the stuff from Alpha sounds pretty awesome, and it's a shame that quite a lot of the original content seems to have been removed.

Wow this was creepy... I wonder what character was supposed to take Quinn's place if you killed him in the original script.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aemixx In reply to Runemaster-Kiro [2015-05-09 20:17:04 +0000 UTC]

I understand that there was no replacement--you just had to live without a healer for the rest of the game. Which is part of the reason they took away the option to kill him, too many people complained about being stuck like that. Though they could have just given you a generic healer with no backstory just for gameplay purposes--possibly a droid.

Vader999 In reply to Aemixx [2017-06-16 08:56:39 +0000 UTC]

They could have given Quinn's healing abilities to another character-Vette and Jaesa seem to be capable to be healers. Vette can scavenge and use Quinn's healing equipment, and Jaesa was an ex-Jedi. I can also see Pierce being good at first-aid since he's part of a black-ops unit.

Aemixx In reply to Vader999 [2017-07-25 04:56:54 +0000 UTC]

Right, and that seems to be more or less how they interpreted them all in the end, now that they can in fact heal.

Viennachan In reply to Aemixx [2015-05-19 11:27:56 +0000 UTC]

What I've been told (which may or may not be the whole story) is that they planned on having companions at 50 like Treek and HK-51 that would fill a role you designate. I don't know if they'd have a backstory or not, but since they weren't able to do that at launch they just cut away any options of killing companions.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aemixx In reply to Viennachan [2015-05-20 06:43:48 +0000 UTC]

Though even with Treek and HK available, those two need to be unlocked, and might not be within reach for everyone who might need a healing companion. I can imagine there being complaints about it even now.
